Nestled in the heart of Placerville, CA, Apple Hill originated as “Pear Hill” dating back to the 1950s. After George Visman’s service in the Korean War, Visman walked up the road after working at his father’s orchard, Boa Vista, and purchased Pear Hill with only $500 in his back pocket, hence the beginnings of Apple Hill’s High Hill Ranch.
With over 155 acres of land, High Hill Ranch is the largest, most visited Apple Hill Farm in Placerville. High Hill Ranch features an on-site restaurant and bakery, serving homemade pies, barbecue, and beverages, while also hosting a large selection of farm attractions for kids and families.
